Parlante is a nice font to set text with, and well as to create
headers or titles. It has been drawn with the same basic metrics
as the usual Times font, but it is based upon designs from Garamont
and Simoncini. Claude Garamont created the Garamond design in
the sixtenth century, when printing was at its peak in a Europe
where books where spreading fast. The work of this genious influenced
other famous type designers of his time such as Robert Granjon
in France, and the italian printer and font designer Simoncini
in early 20th century in Italy.
This elegant and very
legible typeface has a nice contrast, and is particularly suited
for book printing, or small text, because it remains legible
at small point sizes.
