Oncial is the French name for Uncial, the typical script that
was used by Middle Age copyists all over Europe. This kind of
script was used not only for recording scriptures, but also to
record weddings and birth. Amazingly enough, a late variation
of that script, la Ronde, was still in use in France for
official record business until right after World War II.
These typefaces are
hinted and kerned, and suited for any kind of printing work.
They have been used by famous European printers to set text,
using typesetting equipment.
